Heavy Duty Equipment Solutions: High-Capacity Marina Forklifts

Did you know that Florida, the Sunshine State, is the boating capital of the world?

So, when boats are your business, an average forklift won't cut it. You need something made for more. You need a Toyota High-Capacity Marina Forklift. This forklift is the goliath of Florida’s marina and boatyard industry. With lift capacities up to 44,000 lbs, it only knows how to go big. Read on to learn about Toyota's high-capacity marina forklift and how it turns big lifts into light days.

Features

Toyota's high-capacity marina forklifts are built to handle the heaviest jobs, and each truck is created to custom. There are no "off the rack" solutions in a marina forklift. Instead, each is manufactured right here in the USA specifically for you.

Function

First and foremost, each marina forklift must have the power to lift loads far beyond most other forklifts. That's why each features a 6-cylinder Cummins diesel engine. With 260 horsepower and 730 foot-pounds of torque, these engines deliver enough power to allow the fork truck to lift up to 44,000 lbs while driving up to 25 miles per hour. In addition, the Cummins engine is paired with a Dana transmission with 3 speeds in both forward and reverse so that the marina forklift moves with power and efficiency no matter the direction.

Durability

All the strength in the world does little good if the forklift can't stand up to constant use. That's why the marina forklift is built to take the punishment of long shifts. This starts with the axles. The front planetary drive axle and rear-steering axles are reinforced to handle the weight of constant heavy lifts. This strength is echoed in the welded steel frame and the force-cooled wet disc brakes that prevent burnouts while stopping full loads moving at speed. Even the three-step epoxy paint job is designed to take a beating from Florida’s wet weather and still ward off corrosion.

Safety

Dedication to safety is vital! The marina forklift comes standard with a wide array of industry-leading safety features. These start with standard equipment like front and rear LED work lights and an electric horn. In addition, the marina forklift goes beyond these basics to include asbestos-free components, a neutral safety switch, high visibility forks, an integrated overhead guard, and radar rear object detection. Front and rear cameras are available for additional ease of use, and Toyota's operator presence sensing system prevents the fork truck from moving without an operator in the driver's seat.

Ergonomics

Long shifts are just as punishing on the operator as they are on the lift. So the marina forklift is built with ergonomics in mind to maximize operator comfort. There is no dashboard in the marina forklift; this provides more legroom and, when paired with the wide-view mast, provides superior visibility. The 7-inch color touchscreen display is mounted right along the ergonomic joystick controls for maximum ease of use. The air ride seat is standard for a smooth and comfortable ride.

Maintenance

The marina forklift makes maintenance easy. The wide-opening, easily accessible panels allow technicians into the most commonly inspected areas. Central mast lubrication is also standard, so no more climbing a ladder to reach your highest grease points. In addition, they come integrated with a tool-free hydraulic multi-gauge built into their 7-inch touch screen. This allows the operator to check hydraulic pressures throughout the system with the push of a button. The onboard diagnostic systems and engine protection integrate with the touch display to alert the operator of any potential issues before they become hazards.

Specialized for Boat Lift Applications

Toyota’s high-capacity marina forklift comes with a swing-style fork carriage for precise control. The forks are heavy-wall tubular construction, galvanized, and coated with rubber to protect hulls during lifting.

The mast is also specially designed to provide negative lift. This allows the operator to easily lift and lower vessels from their marina slip.

A rack height calculator comes standard on the high-capacity marina forklift. Simply enter the boat length and drive type, and your forklift will use its onboard weight sensor to automatically calculate your maximum safe rack height.

Finally, the high-capacity marina forklift can be equipped with an optional remote control feature. This upgrade allows the operator to control the forklift while outside of the cabin. This means the operator can walk around the boat being lifted if needed for the optimal vantage point.
